Sunflower Craft

24/3/08 (Monday)

I had a terrible gastric last Friday 21/3/08. Due to that we skipped 22/3/08 playgroup! I feel so bad that because of me not being well; my 2 lovely girls have to stay at home… so this is the repay for them…

Sunflower Craft

Ingredients:

All you need is:-
1. Pumpkin seed
2. Red bean
3. Black construction paper
4. A4 Paper
5. Scissors
6. Glue

Firstly, cut a flower/leaves shape on the black construction paper as shown in the above photo.
Then, glue the black construction paper on the A4 paper (white), and you will get this:-

Now, glue the red beans in the centre of the sunflower.

Then glue those pumpkin seeds around those red beans (centre of sunflower) so that it will become the petals eventually.

You can glue a second layer of pumpkin seeds around the first layer in order to make a bigger sunflower. (else one layer of pumpkin seeds already looks great)

Same goes to the leaves, just glue those pumpkin seeds on the leaves.

Once done, color the leaves green.

You have just completed a beautiful sunflower for your mama!!! Great job!!!

My little Wen Wen has no patient to complete this craft. This craft might look simple but it takes a lot of patience in sticking those little beans & seeds on… Anyway, I’m proud that my Xuan Xuan completed this craft without much assistance but only instruction. Well Done Xuan Xuan!! I believe this will bring u a long way!!!

Now, is time to look at how this mummy pampers her little Wen Wen… *really have to give this mummy a knock!!!*

Special Gift for Someone Special

20/3/08 Thursday (Public Holiday)

Sometimes is a real headache to think of what gift to give for someone special. I am sure you would agree with me. Guess who is the special one this time round??

Yes, is Xuan Xuan’s godmother (Kai Ma)-Erica. Is her birthday!! What to give! What to give! What to give!

After much thought, I decided to make my 2 girls hand-made this for their godmother.

As you can see, there are a Glue tube, 6 different Color Crystal Straws and a Transparent Board.

It is quite easy to made if your kids have the patience and you don’t mind them mess up your table & floor with those little crystal beads.

I applied glue on the transparent board, and my 2 little angels picked up their favorite colored crystal straws and start pouring it out on the transparent board. Yes, is that simple! Have a look at the photos…

Children got to have the patience... to slowly pour those crystals beads out on the small little transparent board. Is not really easy for small kids to do it, I would say…
I’m happy that my 2 little angels learnt the patience, learnt to wait for their turn, improving their hand-eye coordination during the activity. Good activity & great fun and most importantly - a meaningful gift (I think)!!! You might consider this the next round you have headache on choosing gift for someone special…

This is the final product – Not Bad huh!!! You can hang it near the window and it will shine like diamonds when sun shines through it – that’s what it says in its instruction…

Note: I decided to keep the messy part for myself :) ...

Thanks Erica!!!

1/3/08 Saturday

I told myself I must record this down so that my 2 girls know how loving their “Kai Ma” is and to remind them to take good care of their godmother “Kai Ma” when they grown up. Hopefully my 2 girls are capable to take good care of their parents as well as their “Kai Ye & Kai Ma” when they grown up.

On this first Saturday of March, this friend of mine came back from Singapore. She rang me up in the evening saying that she & her husband wanted to visit my family. Of course I welcome them with my open arms even though I’m not feeling well. I had terrible flu & cough that time. It made thing worse when I accidentally overdosed myself with the little pink flu tablet. I slept almost the whole day until evening.

I organized myself a little before they reached. They came with these…

Their Christmas presents!!! *Ya…ya…I know is late…but sometimes really no choice…if not I busy, then she busy, sometimes my kids busy, sometimes her husband busy… in short, time fly, that’s the only reason my 2 sweeties get their Christmas presents now, anyway they are happy * Thanks to my dear fren!!

Kids are kids…How excited they are unwrapping the presents!!

Wow!! 2 lovely 100-pieces puzzle!!! Xuan Xuan & Wen Wen love it very much coz is Disney cartoon characters – Mickey, Mini, Donald etc… very lovely.

Xuan Xuan & Wen Wen started to mess up those pieces… and Xuan Xuan started doing it with little help from daddy. This is a great gift!! It creates family fun!!!

Although my Wen Wen is still too young to handle 100 pieces… Look at her satisfaction messing up those puzzles…

Thanks Erica!!

Simply Fun

My 2 bosses are in Shanghai today and tomorrow. This leaves me some time to check on my blog. It had been almost a month I didn’t update my blog… Wow! How can my time just slip off so easily without me realizing it. No! No! Cannot Be!! I must post some of my daughters’ life stories in here to capture down those beautiful memories for future reading pleasure.

28/2/08 (Thursday)

My most precious time of the day – Every evening from 8pm-10pm on all my working days!!! Why do I say so?? Because that is the time for me to be with my 2 little girls. We did a lot and we do a lot. We sing, we dance, we play, we read, we draw, we watch TV, we eat and.... this evening, we did a simple craft!!!

Thanks to my husband for eating those pistachio nuts (leftover from CNY) lead to the birth of this craft. All you need is:-

1. Pistachio’s shell
2. Glue
3. Construction paper (Black color will be the perfect choice as it will have
the best contra color with white pistachio’s shell)

Have a look at the photo below : -

I think I don’t have to elaborate further on how this craft is being done, right?
Any kids at any age can do it, is free flow creative kind of craft… you only need to glue those shell on the black construction paper, and it will end up very nice…

My 2 girls are constructing some flowers pattern…

Even a straight line looks great!

I help to elaborate a bit and … Tra-da …proudly present the final product…

They have been on my cupboard till today…so no worry on those shell being fall off…
